Dope interview. He had some interesting insights. Especially his comments about some in hip hop happily going along with a heavy right wing agenda. Also interesting to see him say the same shit people are currently killing J Cole for about the Drake and Kendrick battle

I wonder if he connects Blue’s aversion to really working at something she’s naturally gifted to do (piano) to how he was with rap at first. I seem to remember him saying at one point that rap came so easy he didn’t see the value in it so didn’t work at it at first. That’s why it took him so long to become a rapper.

I have a daughter that’s a gifted artist but she doesn’t want to have anything to do with trying to monetize it. She doesn’t see the value in it and I tell her this Jay-Z story all the time.
