I was on the phone with a friend that was driving not too far from there about an hour ago and she was complaining about cops flying down the road and hearing sirens all over the place. Shooter dead in Jewish synagogue attack in West Bloomfield: 'No kids or staff injured'

A Jewish synagogue was attacked after a vehicle drove through the front entrance of Temple Israel in West Bloomfield on Thursday. One individual was confirmed dead inside the vehicle, which barged through the front entrance. The Oakland County Sheriff said a security guard shot the man.

(FOX 2) - Police are responding to a scene in West Bloomfield for an active situation. Sources say an active shooter threat located in the area of Temple Israel.

A major scene was reported at Temple Israel, located on Walnut Lake Road.

Smoke was seen spewing from the building with several police vehicles spotted around the perimeter. There were also several police vehicles seen in the area.
Bloomfield Township police said schools were in secure mode due to an ongoing incident.

The Jewish Federation of Detroit ordered all Jewish organizations to go into lockout protocol.
