FEATURED Benny The Butcher: The Streets No Longer Run Hip-Hop, The Nerds Do

test
Griselda could have had a trajectory similar to the Lox had they came out that time... And they had to adapt to fit the era they were in as well.

Jada was doing songs with Mariah and Mya cuz he knew heroine bars alone wasn't gonna cut it
You talking about jada who grew up with his dad in nice household and didn’t want for nothing?

Benny has the worst facial hair. I think I’ve ever seen, to the point where it’s like you have to speak up on it cause that shit looks fucking disgusting. As far as his argument, it’s ironic that he says it’s because the majority of his fans are nerds that he’s talking about.

Ehhh rappers make more money and have more opportunities now under today's conditions than they did in 98.

He not wrong but shit ain't necessarily worse.

I think Griselda has been running shit for so long it's become cool to say they fell off. If we go back to the best albums of year for the last 5+ years it's gonna be full of Griselda albums. No other squad has been running the game like they have in the past 5 years.

It's true. Cam just spoke on this a couple weeks ago:

Between the fashion, wrestling, art, etc. Westside has a bigger following than some niggas on here realize.

That run not that... Hmm... Extended as you think.

The game has already shifted from that sound. Conductor Williams better find a new trick or he gonna find himself outta work

Griselda hasn’t run shit though

Sure their albums make lists by complex and get talked about by the dusty 35 and up crowd like deadendhiphop and joe Budden

But they aren’t moving the needle of hiphop the culture

They move underground hiphop circles

Casual rap fans aren’t listening to the 7 Griselda projects a year

That run not that... Hmm... Extended as you think.

I never thought they were gonna be pop artists, same way I never expected The Lox or Mobb Deep to dominate the charts.

But even in 2025, where yall say Griselda fell off... almost every top rap album released this year has a Griselda artist feature on it, from the Clipse's album, to JID's, to even the surprise Jay Elect albums. Their impact is undeniable.

40 year old rappers:

“Do I want a verse from westside Gunn or do I want a verse from sexxy red?”

Hmmm 🤔

The best rap option under 40 is Sexxy Red?

Griselda got all these features and yet their main act does 15k first week on his first album on Def Jam

Your 2 favorite rappers (Gibbs, Currensy) do the same numbers

Im not saying either are running shit and nobody is discussing them falling off or aging out

Also Freddie did like 38k and again it wasn’t his first release on def jam like Benny

Nice try

Griselda is a very solid underground collective and they break into the mainstream by features a little bit here and there but they don’t move nothing in a broad sense

The dusty underground scene where niggas like Dave East live now? Yeah

But in the grand scheme, no

lol I know you’re really into Griselda now but the facts are the facts

you would think with all the people over there putting out so much music over the past 7 years they would have the rap game in a chokehold and would eclipse crews like Dipset, TDE, etc but they are big fish in a small pond

They can’t get to the bigger pond

They jump to the bigger pond sometimes but they get thrown back into the small one very quickly
