I'm an older dude too pushing 50 in a couple of years, so we most likely saw the same things our family members and friends did back in the day concerning relationships with other cultures. First living near and around Puerto Ricans, then later on around West Indians, we all lived, learned, and helped one another. Maybe getting older and being a family man has left me being tunnel focus on that, but I don't know when the change happen to where the divide came into play. Social media, how the government acts, or other things at play.
I figured you were an OG. I've read your posts, and you come off as an OG, wise poster seeking to see both views whether right or wrong...
I think more of your crowd actually experienced or heard about what has been described by me and a few more posters in the past era dealing with some of the fellow Africans, non FBAs community. There were some areas where everyone looked out....I have experiences and stories in that regard...
In my opinion, this energy that's taking place is hovering around that 18-45 crowd. Those who are active on social media, those who are heavy in those spaces.
I would say this started back when twitter came about when folks could spew out that rhetotic towards FBAS. It's been happening, it just wasn't addressed like it is now. FBAs somewhat overlooked it...didn't wanna be seen as xphendao (that word) or hurtful...knowing where these people came from etc...
When twitter came about...that's when the shit took off..the entitlement...the disrespect....folks old tweets being brought up....etc....That's when in my opinion all of this took off and even then...it wasn't fully addressed like it is now.
I'd say the last 4 or 5 years, i think folks have been calling out these people and I wanna say the past election was when it really came front and center...and that's when the whole FBA thing took off...2023..2024....
Now you have folks with a lot of followers repeating the talking points about FBAs and pointing out what's been said in the past about FBAS from non-FBA groups and what's being said now...so that's how you got the tweet in the OP
Even with folks clamiming hip hop wasn't created by FBAS....I think that was another explosive topic where you can see the line being drawn in the sand...and when Kamala said she wasn't going to do nothing for FBAS.....that's when a lot of folks really started waking up and seeing that non FBAs will NOT do anything for FBAs....they only look out for their own...(which is cool) but don't get upset when FBAs sit back and look out for their own...yall fight yall own battles and we will fight our own battles.
You can see with the whole ICE...the whole world, including non FBA are upset with FBAS because we are not standing on the front line, we are not fighting their battles....we are not at these rallies...which have failed...we are not in front of the mics protesting about ICE....we chilling
You have a hand full of FBAs that's out there..but that aint nothing but the majority of us are chilling and these other non fba groups can't stand it..look in that ICE thread...you got posters in there talking "oh yall next. FBAs next" how...when the 14th amendment was created for us lol...and you really think they will round up 45 million FBAs...and put us where? but yea...
What you're seeing now..it's only goin to grow....You see California doing their thing...
They said it was just some internet talk with 20 people and the Tariq dude as the leader..but that shit doesn't look like internet talk to me...when folks are passing laws
