This is what I hate about the NBA.

You don't trade your key young player who you drafted for a superstar who is starting to age.

Especially when you haven't even seen what the team you have looks like.

Shoutbout Thibs.

He was the head of what was the best time of my fandom of the team. Can't say enough about how much I appreciate him.

That said, it's the right move. I hope they don't fuck it up by making the wrong hire.

Sucks for Thibs, but you can't allow yourself to look that overwhelmed in the conference finals when you got 20 plus years coaching.

A few times I almost lost my mind at him not making the right substitutions in the ECF. I can give a list but I won't.

Thibs forever will be a Knicks favorite of mine, but he did it to himself, so I can't feel too bad.

He deserved to get fired everytime he's been fired

People forget he was also president of basketball operations when he was coaching the Timberwolves.....Dummy traded Jimmy Butler to the 76ers for Bob Covington, Dario Saric and Jerryd Bayless instead of trading him to the Rockets who offered 4 first round draft picks

I didn't expect it. Didn't think they would be brave enough.

I do wonder if Brunson was asked about this, and how much stock they put into his input. Brunson seemed like he loved Thibs, and signing off on this also he means he signed off on his dad getting fired.

They better not force the next coach to hire Rick Brunson as an assistant either. That would fuck everything up. If Rick organically gets the job cause the new coach sees value of having someone who can talk to Brunson on the bench, cool. But it better be 100% the new coaches decision.
