COMMUNITY United States Politics Thread: Trump's Second Term

I also want to add to these 3rd party libertarian green party loose cannons that only show up to complain about a rigged 2 party system every 4 years... maybe you should tell your 3rd parties that there are other elected positions besides president of the whole goddamn country.

Why do they always go straight for president and wonder why they can't get votes? Maybe try running somebody for mayor of somewhere first. School board or something.

Word never see them for mayor or sheriff or something like that.

Anybody think Bernie could have won this past election if he somehow had the financial backing to run as a Third Party? I think he would have peeled off votes from both sides.

I think the major problem would have been that black women would have stuck with Kamala.

No. And not because of Bernie himself but there's a loud faction of his supporters that are either plain ignorant or naive to issues about race. And that would've made it hard to get Black folks on board in mass.

True. I remember Bernie was honest and said that he didn't have a plan for Black people specifically. His plan was to help poor and working class people in general. He pointed out that Black people were disproportionately poor and working class, so he would be helping Black people with his efforts.

A lot of black people, especially the afrocentrist types didn't like that. To be fair, they had some good points. Often times measures meant to help people on the lower end of the socio-economic spectrum are executed in a way that prevents us from benefitting as much as we should.

The problem is that instead of working with him to make sure that didn't happen, those black people would rather just write him off and pursue the pipe dream of getting a president that will enact a comprehensive plan specifically for black people.

You mean the extremely vocal couchgang that's been pretty quiet since the election?
It seems like the people who really support Trump totally don’t see the same continuous, absurd news that I keep seeing all day every day.

They should be happy They got what they wanted

Yeah. He lost young folks with that and his supporters dont help with that tbh...and then Biden captured older Black folks in a way Bernie couldn't.

He's far too left to run 3rd party IMO

I love how the democrats are convening to figure out what the deal is and what can they do.

And they effectively will come to the conclusion that you can’t out maneuver racism and prejudice.

The only way they will ever defeat Trump is convince “blue collar Americans” to overcome their racism and prejudice.

Which won’t happen. Because the only way it can happen is to get them to believe someone how that equality for all still puts them on top, and how do you push such a contradictory message?

You have to be a genius to figure out that one, now …how ironic is it that it’s going to take a Genius to defeat a idiot?

It took the son of god to defeat the devil

That’s why “blue collar guys” love Rogan, Shane Gillis, and Theo Vaughn. Because they promote being ok with being a racist, prejudice, and ignorant piece of shit. They make it jokes, that why the right loves to use them and promote them.

That dude was allergic to anything raced always did everything he could to take it out of the frame showed alot of ignorance... but his presence has had value salute to him for that.

That's just a label though. When asked about his actual policies, the majority of people on both the right and left agree with him. I believe a smart campaign where he made a point of separating himself from the Dems could have worked. Remember, a lot of Republicans vote that way not because they actually care about or understand Rep policies. They vote that way because they hate Dems.

I disagree with that. He's got some strong socialist views
