I agree you don't want to come in with a direct business approach to slashing the government but like I said, I think Vivek is an extremely intelligent person who knows a lot about...well, everything. Plus there are a couple of things to keep in mind. The first is, they aren't a government agency but an outside advisory committee. They are working alongside the Office of Management and Budget. So presumably there would be people there saying "hey if you A, then you will hurt B" and so on. The second thing is, they haven't talked like they are looking to dismantle social programs. I think they want to get rid of a lot of overpaid bureaucrats in different departments and targets areas like that. Here is a tweet from Vivek

Now I haven't looked into what these programs are, but that doesn't sound to me like they are looking to gut things like Medicare. Of course I could be wrong. I need to actually look at what he is talking about. I just read the tweet as I am sending it to you.
Last thing I will say on it is this should directly impact how people view taxes and what the government should be aiming to do. Everyone says he wants to give tax cuts to the rich and that they should go to lower and middle income. Well, the less money the government thinks they need, the more likely we get to a point where they stop taking our damn money. I don't pretend to know if any of that will happen, but that should be the ultimate goal.
