Paying a 3rd option probably $160 mil on a team with no clear direction is gonna go crazy

There’s no other place outside of BK where Mikal would be considered THE guy

The direction is clear, compete for a playoff spot this year (likely will not make the playoffs though) retool via trades and free agency and get lucky with some internal improvements. The team can’t outright tank like they technically should.

They don’t own their picks and they can’t tank. Bottoming out like the last time pretty much handed the Celtics Tatum and Brown. What’s the point of that again?
