Is there a superhero movie fatigue?

In light of the discussion surrounding Shazam, one of the key talking points is that there may be a fatigue with comic book movies. Do you think that is the case?

Oh. Haven't seen Shazam and keep going back and forth on if I want to. So I'll avoid spoilers and say no

I plan to go see MCU and Gunn's universe

It's not only Shazam, Quantumania is not going to break even. We'll see if it's really fatigue in over a month when GOTG Vol. 3 comes out

It def feels like it. Ive even stopped trying to watch every one that comes out because of lost interest. Quantumania was my respark then reviews killed that.

Im here for GOTG 3 but im not dying to see it.

Superhero fatigue? Ehh idk

DC can’t consistently make good movies and their going through their whole reset which is going to make ppl less interested and Marvel makes movies that people go out and see but they either are met with 3 issues

They compare the movies to the highs of the infinity saga and keep disappointing themselves and because of the addition of the TV shows they are less connected to the story and characters in the movies due to not seeing the show that they need to fill in the holes or because they don’t like the shows whether it’s quality or quantity or both, it’s in turn making them less interested in the movies

Marvel’s VFX has been an issue for a lil bit as well

Marvel’s formula needs a bit of refreshing but when they did that with eternals the general public didn’t like it so it’s like damned if you do damned if you don’t

I mean it could be fatigue just from the sheer number of shows/movies coming out in the ecosystem and marvel could probably benefit from only having one movie and maybe only two shows a year.

There’s no saving DC

I will say I have no interest in seeing GOTG 3 but I’ve never seen one in theatres because they just never really interested me like that

Marvel needs better pacing between flicks. There used to be anticipation and we lack that now. Phase two had only two movies per year. Phase three started with two movies the first year, then three every year after that.

Since they got the shows now on Disney+, they can fall back on two a year.

Can't even use the excuse that people are not going to the theater cause Scream VI did a franchise record. Creed III did a franchise record. John Wick 4 did a franchise record.

damn I was gonna say maybe its not so much superhero fatigue but FRANCHISE fatigue... but all Scream, John Wick and Creed kinda prove that wrong.

I love marvel joints.. but gotdamn id like to see some more original films instead of endless remakes and reimaginings. Hollywood needs more original stories.

Disney is actually pulling back on how much content Marvel is gonna release. Gonna give things time to breathe

Idk if im out on superhero movies, but im kind of out on the MCU. Didnt even bother to watch Ant Man 3.

To me it due to the sudden fall in quality but idk if its actually fallen off, or if im just burn out on the MCU.

As far as DC, nah.

“Why isn’t Shazam and AntMan crushing the box office???!!!”

Because it’s AntMan and Shazam. Casual viewers don’t know who these people are like that.

I’d never heard of Shazam before the first movie and still ain’t even watched that. Previous Ant Man had that IW buzz around it which helped.

Lol facts bruh I heard of Shazam from cartoon but he was just a Superman knockoff to me. Never heard of Guardians of the Galaxy at all until the movies. I knew Black Panther but only because he was Black and that wasn’t till I was much older.
