HBO The Last of Us (No 2nd Game Spoilers!!)

Both sides were wrong for taking the choice away from ellie but I understand both sides. Joel doesnt care about anyone but ellie and maybe his brother. For him, he can live with the consequences. He lied to ellie because he knew he might lose her anyway if she knew the truth. She might of grown to hate him.

Another thing to consider is that the fungus mutates. What if it got worse?

Good show and everything, I wasn't familiar with the game like yall are. But I'll say there was not enough zombie action for me at all... a lot more sentimental scenes than asskicking scenes. There was a lot of filler. They need to step it up in season 2

Infected. Not zombies. As someone who played the game I completely agree there wasn't enough scenes with infected. A lot in here disagree though 🤷‍♂️

Just finished the finale....

Things the game did better:

- Making the story feel like more of a journey. The 15+ hours of gameplay made you feel like it took a long ass time to get to the hospital and by that time, you really empathise more with Joel.

- Bill’s Town was better than the suburb he lived in during the show. It was bigger.. and of course the interaction with Ellie and Bill were classic moments.

- The encounters with the infected and how threatening they were. There were encounters in the high school, hotel basement, during the section with David and just before the hospital that were intense and well done.

- The storyline with David felt a lot longer in the game and because you have to fight alongside him during a battle with the infected, it made Ellie and the player trust him more, so the whole reveal about him being an absolute monster was more effective.

- You spent more time with characters so their deaths hit even harder. You’re with Tess, Sam and Henry in the game a lot longer than you are in the show.

Things the show did better:

- Allowing you to spend the day with Sarah and build that emotional attactment with her character before you know what happens.

- Adding more depth to Joel’s character - him suffering from PTSD, panic attacks, revealing that he tried to commit suicide after his kid gor murked...

- Bringing Ellie's mother into the show and explaining why Ellie is immune.

- The cold openings and showing how the infection spread so fast.

- Ellie's in the scene when Henry shoot’s himself was stronger than it was in the game. The gasp she lets out was haunting af.

- The final showdown scene with David was better than it was in the game. That scene in the game feels empty now in comparison to the shrieks of terror ol' girl let out while Dave was on top of her.

And to people who wanted to see them fighting the Infected in every episode... how would that serve purpose to the development of the story? It would just be for cheap kicks. Every scene with the Infected had a purpose to the plot. The story is a drama about people with action, not the other way around. That's that Walking Dead shit.

Started playing part 2…
