He answered his own question. No one is gonna trade positive assets for someone they don't have to.

Especially at his age and him only able to start on a handful of teams if that. He'll go join the contender if his choice.

This way worse than what Rivers said about him imo...idk if Simmons if going to be around much longer(and I'm talking aboutthe NBA in general)

JV is in a tough position. He is trying to secure a job for himself while trying to coach around a $35 million elephant in the room that is clearly hampering his team. The FO is prolly forcing him to play the guy so his trade value grows.

Paying that dude $35 million they got no choice but to put him out there

You keep playing him until the post season and hope he has a breakthrough.

If he doesn't break through by then and is unplayable don't play him. I don't think he's playing that bad that he's unplayable. He's still their best perimeter defender.
He’s definitely not unplayable. He serves a purpose. He's gonna have to find a way to stay on the court come crunch time. Coaches are gonna come at him during the playoffs. Make some freethrows and a lot of people will shut up. I also prefer him not spending too much time defending on the perimeter. That's were a lot of his are coming from.
