If there was a gun ban though and people started using knives and bats, I’d take the time I’ve done training to shoot and train to squabble. Especially if that’s what it takes to keep kids safe.

Certain gun control laws that a lot yall are suggesting have already been on the book for years. It's just that a lot of those laws are on the federal level. States have their own gun laws. The feds don't pick up a lot federal gun law violations and just let the state handle it on a state level. Since it may not violate the state laws they nothing happens. Shit the local police might not even know that they just came up on a violation of federal guns law. The Feds usually only know of the violation if the state alerts them to it or some other big crime happens and the feds get involved for a whole other reason.
Seems what yall should really be pushing for is to have the gun control laws be taken away from the states and controlled on a federal level.
Abortion is controlled on a federal level. Overturning Roe v Wade puts abortions back in the hands of the states to decide. That is why that is a problem.
Certain laws just shouldn't left up to the states to decide. Just like weed right now. Many states have some form of legalized weed usage and selling. Yet weed is still completely illegal on a federal level. Which is why dispensaries can't take their money to banks.
Guns should absolutely NEVER be completely banned. We've seen how that works for our people before.

Republicans are the same party that has refused to enact the gun rights bill that the Democrats had drafted up that has been sitting on ice for years. The same party that for DECADES that has constantly tried to get rid of women reproduction rights until they finally succeeded through the Supreme Court. Democrats deserve some blame as well due to all the dysfunctional mess created within their own party as well by not getting some legislation passed.

I hear what you saying about the guns never being banned but as far as everyday folks having access to military grade guns that should definitely be banned. I would say only people in law enforcement should have those type of weapons but shit you got assholes behind a badge that can't do right towards minorities with a regular gun.
