I got this image off this Twitter feed and it is so accurate about gun violence in America...

I vowed to myself long ago I would never live in America just because of how easy it is to acquire a gun ... It is absolutely ridiculous

Secondly, mass shootings such as this only make more American citizens acquire more guns ... So it's s lose lose situation

I'm a parent and I'm numb ... But I'm witnessing evil acts everyday even in my own country... People being murdered for nothing ... There is no sanctity to HUMAN LIFE ...

Here in the UK there's strict gun control but excessive knife violence... Resulting in most cases in fatalities especially amongst teenagers

For a parent to bury a child, a young one at that due to gun violence is not something I would even wish on my worst enemy ..

I don't have a solid solution for gun control just like most people. I do however have a suggestion.

Federal Property Tax.

Tax every single gun that is registered. Tax should be the same amount as the value of each gun you own. You pay taxed on your car, why not your gun too?

Anyone refusing to pay taxes are subject to felonies and their guns revoked. This should be taken just as seriously as income tax evasion.

If you believe in your right to own a gun, you should be willing to pay for that right.

If you can't afford those taxes then maybe it is time to get rid of your guns.

This wouldn't stop guns from being purchased but it could potentially slow it down.

Imagine paying yearly taxes on the 20 guns you own. Now ask yourself is jail time worth not paying taxes?

Just a suggestion. I don't really have an answer to the problem.

sounds like a tax on the poor, my man.
Any tax in America is a tax on the poor.

Since gun ownership is leaning more towards privilege to own than right to own. The privileged should have to pay for the privilege.

RIP to all the children and victims of cowardly act.
However, guns not the issue, PEOPLE are. We need much more SELF control and there's a mental health crisis developing domestically as well.
As long as people are twisted there will always be risk of shit like this occuring. Take away the guns and homie might of went Texas Chainsaw Massacre in that school. Where there's a will there's a way.

Take away all guns now limited defense etc. Guns not evil guns save lives and protect as well.

A chainsaw ain’t killing 18 people at once

Man just STFU. I’ve seen your follow up posts too.

So again, just STFU.

Like the senator said, the US isn’t an outlier when it comes to mental health, it’s an outlier with firearms proliferation.
