The Metaverse is basically a virtual reality world. Think Grand Theft Auto 5, Wreck It Ralph 2 or The Sims but where job interviews, social gatherings, business presentations, concerts, etc. Will be held. Instead of Zoom calls you'd be in the Metaverse with an avatar that represents you or it could be yourself in virtual reality.

The idea here is companies can also post ads all over the Metaverse in abundance. In traditional media like newspapers or YouTube videos you can only put an ad in 1 space or at select parts of the video, in the Metaverse you can be in a Zoom media presentation in a virtual room and there could be thousands of ads on the walls around you.

This has been around since the 2000’s. I did research for BMW in SC in 2008 using a website called Second Life as a means to collaborate with our German counterparts. I’m not sure if it’s still around but if it is you can go create an avatar right now and explore.
