Why wasn't the other sister ever mentioned?

I liked it but I was hoping they were going to do a show and give us more. Can't do enough background and all in 2 hours

They got a bunch of the traits of the characters from the show correct. Junior, Tony's mom, Pussy, and Paulie did great

Tony’s older sister that played a big part in the show was in the movie heavy. The other sister was a little girl still, about 3 or 4 I'm guessing. She was the little girl that ran up to Tony's dad when he got back from prison.

Imo Tony's role in relation to Dickie was really not needed for this movie. It was cliche. Dickie was the OG and Tony wanted to be like him. Blah Blah Blah. They should of made it more about how Tony's immediate family was so fucked that he and his sisters grew up the way they did bcuz of it. They coulda showed more of the toxic relationship between his mom and dad.

They touched on that but not as much as i would have liked. I kinda feel like the trailers to the movie want you to think this is a Tony Soprano movie but it's really about Dickie.

I feel like Tony's role in the movie was just to bridge the scenes together when they originally told them in OG series. Like the carnival, the beehive shooting in the car and Junior telling him he ain't cut out for varsity football.

Since this was about Dickie, the Tony scenes were not really needed. Dickie had a lot going on besides trying to mentor a kid.

I feel like this movie was screwed by it's marketing. This is clearly focuses on Chrissy's dad and Tony was just a glorified cameo.

I want to see a sequel or Godfather of Harlem styled-series based off of Harold since he was giving the family hell back in the day. Wild how I thought the guy playing him was in his late 20s when he's actually pushing 40.

How??? The action/killings were dope

Tony was irrelevant, Dickie's *pause* character wasn't interesting to build a movie around and acting like he was holding Niggas down, Ray Liotta playing twins (really), Herald going on the run for murder but coming back because the lead detective passed away like he didn't blow the kid away in front of a white man who happens to work for the army. Junior having dude murked because he laughed at him. I can keep going if you like.

Movie was way different than I thought it was gonna be. I knew it was mainly going to feature dickie but I thought tony would have a bigger role.

Dude who played junior got the voice and mannerisms perfect. Knew as soon as junior got pissed about dickie laughing at him he was gonna do some stupid shit.

It was cool seeing the riot and rivalry in the neighborhood. They mentioned the riots a few times in the series but the way Tony would talk about it in the show made it seem like he put in some work back then when he wasn't even brought into the family yet according to this movie.

Dude who played sil was weird. The way Sil walks and talks is just weird haha.

I think this is the warm up to a sequel or series staring young Tony. David Chase said he was down to continue the story.

Then we will get to see the card game robbery and Tony getting made ect...

Young Paulie was perfect.

Young Silvio was fuckin weird.

Gonna rewatch it today

Sopranos Lite

PRAISE : After watching 6 seasons of the great The Sopranos series on HBO this epilogue to the series has its moments.
It was great to watch some of the situations that were merely mentioned in the series play out in this film.
The cast including: Alessandro Nivola, Leslie Odom Jr., Jon Bernthal, Corey Stoll, Ray Liotta do a good job for the most part. The standouts are Ray Liotta and Vera Farmiga
Michael Gandolfini son of the late great James Gandolfini does pretty well he actually made me feel sympathy for the young Tony Soprano in his portrayal. You have this kid who really has no one to turn to for guidance except for one person that reaches out but is also involved in sinister things but because he's the person in your corner you still look up to him. I thought this played out well in the film. Some nice nods to the series.

PROBLEMS:One story thread was so forced I kept saying is this going somewhere? I laughed at the "bonus" part of it and said so what? There's a hollow feel to some of the film. Some character portrayals felt like odd impersonations of actors from the series.
At times certain scenes felt like extended flashbacks never hitting the right notes the writers and Director were hoping to hit.
I have to agree with others that have said this may have worked better as a 4 to 6 part series.

Scale of 1 to 10 a 7

Spoiler. was very hype for this. Tony’s son did great. I was waiting got him to bark on someone but whatever. Jon bernthal as Johnny boy didn’t remind me of the movie at all. Shooting her in the hair was great though. Dude who played junior was great as far as I’m concerned. Thought they used sound bites for him sometimes. Christopher narrating got me hype. Very thrown off by Silvio and pussy being so old. They look same age as the show. I wanted more.

I am utterly baffled by people saying its "boring". I just assumed that wypipo were mad about all the black ppl in the film (and I'm sure they are) but I see people in this thread co-signing the "boring" take. WTF??? How in the blue fuck are the Newark Race Riots "boring" lmao

Baby chris knowing Tony going to kill him and crying whenever he is near him.

Chris dad killing his dad in car in a fit of rage similar to Tony killing chris.

Few other parts that sync up

Carmella told Tony about Furio during one of their arguments and Tony threatened to have him found and killed

the last time Furio was mentioned was in a later season when Tony n Carmela have a argument and Tony sneers that he has people in Italy looking for him

Christopher telling them 3:00.

The Chris thing was never answered as far as I know.

For those who never played a fighter jet video game, "3 o clock" is another way of saying "to your right".
