I believe people should take time off whenever they can because burnout is a real thing. i remember my past jobs guilt tripping me whenever i wanted to take time off but pto is a wage. ive earned it the same as ive earned my paycheck. I have friends that refuse to take their pto because their employer loves reminding them that something more “important” may come up down the line but fuck all that! my mental health is important every day.
 
I take it when I can....we gotta have “capacity available” to take it which is rare
 
I ain't shy about taking my shit. Honestly, without any sort of hyperbole at all, rarely a week goers by that I don't take at least a few hours off of work. I don't need a reason. And I work from home. Lol.

But the nature of my job is that have certain shit that I need to get done at the end of the week and at the end of the month and I have to facilitate a few meetings each each. As long as all that gets done, no one gives a fuck.

I just went off on my mgr cause I'm taking off for a 4 day vacay wrapped around the weekend.

She said 'jokingly' to make sure I earn my trip by working hard this week.

I replied 'jokingly' that my PTO has accrued therefore I've already earned it.

These jobs only want you to call off when you're sick...

It's mine, I spend it!!

 
I used to work at IHOP. I took pto, unexcused absences, late all the time, and like 20 smoke breaks every shift.

They never fired me.

IHOP has a high turnover rate

People don't show up to interviews with them, at least then lol

This was in 2005, you could do whatever cause they needed the employees

Plus my manager had big ass titties

Shit always disgusts me. Like yo its just a job fam. Unless you own the company, fuck letting your job be a part of your idenity. Shits disgusting.
 
My job is just a job. Looking for a new one sucks but these niggas can kiss my ass. I took off early a week ago and my bitch ass boss calling me trying to get me to log back in. I told her I was on the other side of town even though I was sitting on my couch watching Mortal Kombat.
 
These jobs bugging last year when I was looking for a job while I was going to school I got hired at safelite, a week in training and I was like nah, shit was a toxic environment off the rip. I quit a week into working there and just now keep getting emails from them asking me to give them another shot. They are so down on people they are begging people that quit on them to come back. All that said, if I did go back, bet money they would give me shit about using PTO. Fuck these jobs for real, take your PTO, cause your employment to them is nothing but a necessary burden, and they tell you in your onboarding that they reserve the right to fired for anything when ever they feel. Go head and fire me for taking PTO and catch these lawyer hands.
 
My girl used to be on that hoarding PTO shit. I’m like for what? Use them shits up. We would’ve went on a lot more vacays if she wasn’t scared to take time off.

every now and then she brings up how we didn’t spend enuf time in a certain country and I be like we could’ve, but u was shook

use them PTO folks. Job will replace you if you drop dead tomorrow
