My mom quickly realized that this was the case. As a young kid, I'd rationalize 'Yeah, I'll just take the ass whooping. Shit'll be over quick.'. When I was put on punishment or had shit taken away, a nigga was SICK.
 
If I did some bad shit and my momma told me stay inside. 7 out of 10 she gon kick me out the house for being loud and “annoying” her

I got whoopings when I was a kid but my wife didn't. We both react differently when it comes to disciplining our kids sometimes. She's definitely too soft sometimes and I'm definitely too tough sometimes but we always agree on the punishment in the end.

I don't whoop my kids just because I got whooped. I just know from getting whoopings and not getting whoopings what the impact is on certain shit. She never got whooped so in her eyes things that aren't even a punishment might seem like a punishment sometimes.
 
My folks told us - 3 bros and 1 sis - to grab the ‘slipper’ which meant a spanking which had us all shook and directly in line right away lol.

Grandpops literally kicked my azz once, he lived in a rural area and I decided run away/walk home to my parents house alone - which was like a 100 miles away - and my lil bro tagged along... i think its healthy for a boy from a father if administered correctly and fairly.

teaches consequence anf a healthy respect for grown males/larger individuals....
