Official CYOL Auction Day 1: The 90’s

I miss Menace man

I know i aint the only one guilty of this shit but I remember i'd always bid for Mariah when I found out that nigga was her biggest fan.

then if I got her i'd just use her as leverage to force him into trading me somebody i really wanted.

one year I think i had Kendrick and he had the other members of Black Hippie so I used her to get the other 3 members i needed from him lmao. Shits funny cause if there was a time he could really be taken serious w/ Mariah it would be in this game. Where we actually doing 90s artist.

- be smart in bids and have an idea of what label you want to make. Dont spend over 100 mil on anything that's NOT going to be your main feature artist or number 2. That's how most players lose.

- you're being judged on your labels ability to do well with sales, critical acclaim, longevity, cohesiveness and album cover art.

- try to get artists that can hit as many metrics as possible but will also be cohesive with your squad. What I can tell you is cohesiveness wins games.

- know when to stop, most people get so addicted to bidding in the auctions they forget there's an actual tournament to win and bid themselves broke or get waaaaay too many artists they know they can't make enough album covers for.

- think long term - for auctions if Jazzy is going by decades think of how many artists can or cant be dropped and strategize for that.

- remember there is still the artist draft and you can win big if you draft well.

- try to have a team people will want to make music with. You're gonna have to collaborate with each other to make certain albums and also doing joint albums can help you in a major way to win categories and put you on top.
lol, man you know I aint no rookie

Not really

you can still lock down some top tier artist and just get features from some of the 90s artist that were picked up by others

I hear you fam, but the label i was creating was centered around Hov. Now i'm told I can only use the head of the label on features.
