Not too many movies have as many levels as the book like this does....

It tells multiple stories at once and shows the horrors of the prison system without over doing it on the violence which is ironic considering it's Kings work.

It's not my number 2 movie, but I can't argue with it being there...

I once was in a discussion group and we were breaking down the scene where old homie got out of jail and then killed himself.

Basically saying by releasing that man that age was essentially killing him.

Like for people who don't understand institutionalism.... That was one hell of a example...

Then for homie to get the same room when he got free..... And see where he carved his name..... That shit was deep as fuck....

It's not my favorite movie of all time but when you consider the story, the acting, the setting... It's a movie that always gets a watch when it's on

I don't care about the number on that list, but if being rated as a good movie is the measure stick then it's properly rated
