The NFL took 75+ years to get where it is today

When a lot of those families bought teams, they paid pennies on the dollar. Like a couple hundred dollars. These teams today are worth billions

To someone else's point, these black kids don't even want to go to hbcu's so what makes you think that starting a league to rival the NFL will succeed?

I'm a realist. I would rather devote those resources to other more viable things that we can see immediate returns on

I hope this answers your question

You did. Thank you.

I understand growth takes time... It's a principle of growth so I don't expect anything substantial to happen overnight. But to answer your question I think it would work because of the revenue from merchandise, sponsorships and endorsements could potentially sustain the new league's players while the league continues collecting the revenue from ticket sales, ratings, events, etc.

You know how the vast majority of recording artist make the bulk of their income through shows and merch but the labels collect mostly on the record sales and radio spins... It can be like that initially until the league is able to pay it's players those bigger numbers... But to keep it a thowow if an organization can give 50mil to one player, but the community is struggling financially, we still losing.

I understand that we/you/me want tangible results right now but at some point we're going to have to make sacrifices now for long term results.

Taking things one day at a time is cool sometimes but we also have to make sacrifices for our future individually and collectively.

This isn't a solution it's an idea. A solution has a plan behind it and nobody has yet to come up with a plan where black folks can start their own league that is actually doable

It's an idea AND a solution. For example we should grow our own food. That's a solution for the unhealthy food options in our communities. The ideas are how you go about applying that solution.

From the outside, the only thing I can imagine Jay doing is being the face for PR/Community management. Raising money and organizing or... maybe... I don't fucking know. Does he have an official title or something? How does this even work? What kind of power and decision making are they really giving him?

What this sounds like to me... and correct me if I'm wrong is that... the ones who support this move have more faith in a blatantly racist organization to do right by us than we have in ourselves do to do right by ourselves and build our own the way we want to.

Correct me if I'm wrong...

Naw...I think most folk who support it just like to see Jay continue to win in business cause it's inspiring and think he can "change things from the inside"...

Is anyone at all concerned that Kaep hasn’t said shit?

Other than co-signing Nessa and Eric has he spoken up since...

Bruh, did he sell his voice (NDA) and does that change your opinion of him?

*SN I don’t see how E. Reid isn’t considered a sell out especially if that’s Kaeps mans.

They say which team he's part owner of yet?

Anyway...I still dont know how I feel about this topic. I've heard good arguments from both sides, but enough from the camel's mouth to determine where I stand (kneel) on it. Idk......wait and see I guess.
