WrestleMania 36 PPV Thread: April 4 & 5, 2020

“The Big Dog” won’t be at WrestleMania 36 after all.

According to a report from Pro Wrestling Sheet, Roman Reigns requested to be removed from his WrestleMania 36 match against Goldberg for the Universal Championship due to coronavirus concerns. Reigns’ immune system is compromised due to his recent battle with leukemia, and he didn’t want to take a chance with his health. WWE is said to have honored the request and replaced Reigns in the bout

Good fuccin move on his part.

so Vince took the title off Wyatt to crown a challenger that wont compete and to dilute the reaction of a live crowd that wont exist

the L's keep piling up for Bray

WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Asuka and Cesaro are also currently out of action, according to Raj Giri of Wrestling Inc.

As we’ve noted, the coronavirus pandemic has forced many changes to plans for this week’s WWE TV and WrestleMania 36 tapings as the following Superstars have been impacted in some way, whether it’s being pulled by WWE or the talent choosing not to travel or wrestle due to the outbreak – Roman Reigns, Murphy, Paige, WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler, SmackDown Tag Team Champion Paige, Rey Mysterio, and Dana Brooke. WWE United States Champion Andrade was also pulled from the card due to an injury.

You can now add Cesaro and Asuka to that list.

At one point Asuka was scheduled to team with Kairi Sane to defend in a Triple Threat at WrestleMania 36, against Natalya & WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix, and Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross. It’s been reported that the likely direction was going to end up being Asuka and Sane vs. just Bliss and Cross.

Cesaro was not announced for a WrestleMania match but he likely would have been at ringside with Shinsuke Nakamura for the match between Daniel Bryan and WWE Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn.

Now there’s no word yet on if Asuka and Cesaro have been cleared for action, but it’s also possible that they are choosing not to wrestle right now due to coronavirus pandemic concerns. As noted, WWE officials told all talents that they did not have to come to work if they didn’t feel comfortable doing so, and that the decision would not be held against them in the future.

As noted earlier, several WWE Superstars have been sick or quarantined but none have tested positive for COVID-19 as of Thursday.

Add Murphy to the list of WWE Superstars who were pulled from this week’s WWE TV and WrestleMania 36 tapings.

Murphy was originally scheduled to appear during Monday’s RAW episode from the WWE Performance Center, likely in the segment with Seth Rollins, but PWInsider reports that he was “not cleared to appear.”

There’s no word yet on why Murphy wasn’t cleared, but it was also noted that he will not be appearing on WrestleMania 36, which was taped this week to air on Saturday, April 4 and Sunday, April 5.

Murphy was not scheduled for a match at WrestleMania 36, but it’s likely that they had plans for him to appear with Rollins for the singles match against Kevin Owens.

Stay tuned for more updates coming out of this week’s WWE TV and WrestleMania 36 tapings.

So.. the rumor floating around is The Miz showed up at the Smackdown taping sick and Reigns found out about this. Contributing to him dropping out of WrestleMania. There’s no confirmation that he has it or not but he was on Smackdown tonight so... I dunno. If he’s had it during those tapings then regardless of who’s where then a lot of wrestlers are fucked.

They saying the smackdown tag titles will be defended by John Morrison against one of the Uso's. Make that make sense.
