People bashing Simone Biles are fuckin idiots. I don't think that's QUITE what Shapiro is doing though. From what I saw he basically said she's not a villain for removing herself from the competition, but she's not a hero for it either. I get the argument, and I agree with that part. It doesn't have to fall to one extreme or the other.
Biles is the GOAT and came across a mental obstacle that put her in danger at a bad time. So to protect herself and do what's best for the team, she withdrew. She made the right choice, and shouldn't catch shit for it. It's not heroic, but there's nothing wrong with it either. If you legitimately can't go, there's nothing wrong with saying that and sitting it out. I guess it could be heroic to other gymnast that are scared to make that call for themselves though.
