Every touring artist has a dj but they not the forefront..producers kinda snatched tht away though alot of dope producers are or started out as djs
Just to add on
Grandmaster Flash can get gigs by himself now in 2020. There's no reason for him to tour with the Furious 5 and split the money 5 ways (one of the members died). However, the Furious 5 can't get gigs by themselves. For some reason nobody knows who the Furious 5 is unless you tell them that Grandmaster Flash was the DJ.
But what's even stranger is that Grandmaster Flash didn't do anything on the records he made with the Furious 5, except Adventures of Grandmaster Flash & The Wheels of Steel
