I think it's reverse. I can tell if I am not feeling someone immediately. That works for all people not just someone I would have potentially moved forward with. But as I get older I try to be more open. There are a couple of people that as I got to know them I liked them more but that would have been men that I later became friendlier with. I have never met a woman that I wasn't feeling them and later on said she was cool enough to date.

Like I have met male friends of my wife that at first I was like nah and she would say that is such and such's father or husband/ boyfriend and I was I am not feeling him but later on after being around them a while I am like he is cool but don't expect us to hang out together
