The official COVID-19/Coronavirus Discussion Thread...aka I hope I don't get the Rona

Hold on. That dude said some of the dumbest shit possible about sports. You mean to tell me FOXNew went and...ok, yeah that makes perfect sense now that I think about it.

Surprised he wasn't on there sooner you could always tell what type of time he was on.

imo they now recognize and accept that schools HAVE TO STAY OPEN. close bars, gyms, movie theatres and restaurants (take out and outdoor seating only). But society can NOT function if adults dont have someone to watch their kids during the day. Schools gotta be open, so ppl are able to go to work.
This doesn’t work for two reasons:

1) It effectively turns teachers into babysitters, which we aren’t.

2) Students may not feel the effect of the Rona, but adults do. And the first adults that would be at risk ARE teachers and school officials...followed by parents, grandparents, and other older relatives of these kids.

Nah, even Dr. Fauci said small children are less likely to spread it than adults, so the risk is low. When you add mask wearing and other preventative measures, it dwindles even more.

And if you’re teaching the kids while they’re in school, how’s that any different from any other point in time? It it’s babysitting now, it was babysitting then.

Having small children in school helps the parents and the kids (which is the teachers job).

Middle school and up age kids should be ok to continue remote learning for the time being.

1. Bruh lol wtf do you think teachers are. They are paid to "watch" the kids from 9 to 3. Yes, they also have to teach them shit. Pre k up to middle school teachers are essentially babysitters who teach.....lol this is news to you.

2. Its the cost to doin bizness during a pandemic. Ya jus gotta try n do it safely.

Shortening the length of quarantine "may make it easier for people to take this critical action, by reducing the economic hardship associated with a longer period, especially if they cannot work during that time," Walke said.

It's unclear how many Americans exposed to the virus have complied with the 14-day guidance since the pandemic began
. According to Walke, the CDC has heard "anecdotally from our partners in public health that many people are discontinuing quarantine ahead of time because there's pressure to go back to work

Walke noted that a 14-day quarantine is still the best way to reduce the risk of spreading Covid-19.

The initial 14-day quarantine guidance was based on the incubation period for the virus, that is, the length of time it can take for a person to become infected after exposure. Even with the shortened quarantine periods, people should monitor for symptoms for a full 14 days after exposure, the CDC advises.
