The Miami Heat coach, who went head-to-head against Popovich and San Antonio in the 2013 and 2014 NBA Finals, will be involved coaching the U.S. select team — a group of players that will be brought in to practice and scrimmage against the Olympic roster.

USA Basketball, which will be coached for the first time by Gregg Popovich of the San Antonio Spurs, completed its 12-man Olympic roster on Wednesday, though it is still possible that the names might change before the Tokyo Games begin.
The full select team roster is expected to be finalized in the coming days. USA Basketball opens its on-court portion of training camp in Las Vegas on July 6.
