Breaking News The Global Climate Crisis

We are pretty much fucked. The oil companies did the research decades ago and were aware of all of this. Instead of spending the money to transition to cleaner sources of energy, these mfers decided to spend billions in misinformation and propaganda.

Will take only a true revolution to make a change. I guess this is the price we pay for “Capitalism “, smh.

How this isnt the top priority for every nation on the planet.... smfh
It's the most important issue with young voters however the people who determine elections are over 50s and they just don't care so politicians don't really give it that much attention.

Also most political structures mean they can make it a side issue

promises net zero emissions by 2070
Speaking just now at the conference, India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi makes five major commitments - "elixirs", as he calls them - from his country.

The blockbuster of the five is a vow to achieve the target of net zero emissions by 2070.

India had previously failed to announce a net zero target like other major polluters.

The fact that it has now done so is notable. But many will see the date of 2070 as a major disappointment because one of the key goals of this summit is for all countries to commit to net zero by 2050. China has committed to net zero by 2060.

China is the world's largest emitter - and India is the third-largest.
