Friday Night Smackdown Thread - 3/22

WrestlingNews.co is reporting that Kevin Owens' worked shoot promo on Smackdown Live was done because WWE is aware that the Shane McMahon push hasn't gone over well with fans. The Owens promo is reportedly the start of a storyline that will phase Shane out as a regular TV character. The promo was said to have been praised from people backstage.

The site also noted that "the declining ratings have forced Vince McMahon to ask for more input on the product and he’s listening to the criticism more than ever. They have also done surveys to figure out what people do and don’t like about the shows."
Good get him the fuck outta here dunno why the fuck they thought having him as a full time wrestler was a good idea

they really fucked up bringing him back full time like that

he was gone for years and people were happy to have him back in some capacity (atleast I was) but they over did it with having him on TV week after week.

Im still pissed that they put him over the Miz so many times

Only thing i wouldnt mind seeing with shane would be him vs hhh on some whos gonna control the wwe shit...shit writes itself basically

Again that Fox deal puttin that pressure on him. He better start listening. Should've been doing this.

Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com is reporting that Vince McMahon was not in attendance at Smackdown "but he was on the phone constantly and he reviewed the show on the phone with people one hour before it started." Triple H was working the Gorilla position and Bruce Prichard was presenting the show to the other producers. Prichard is reportedly the person who pushed the hardest to have Eric Bischoff in the exectutive director role for Smackdown. Ryan Ward is expected to remain as the lead writer unless Bischoff tries to make a change. Bischoff is currently scheduled to begin his new job next week.

Stock analysts are said to have responded well to the news of Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff having executive director roles. The feeling is that the analysts don't know about wrestling that much but like the idea of people that were successful during wrestling's hottest period being involved with WWE.

This Charlotte flair liv Morgan exchange is quite interesting

She bout to get squashed

idk wtf they gonna do with her going forward now that the Riott Squad is no more. The smart move would be to send her back down to NXT or try to repackage her on the main roster by keeping her off TV for a while
