Should they make a Black Panther Sequel

I like the idea of introducing Dr. Doom but not the Sue Storm angle. They could even introduce Namor with this Black Panther sequel

So many cool possibilities with the sequel to the 1st movie. I honestly hope they chill with all the CGI stuff and do more practical effects though. The CGI in the initial movie was some of the worst that Marvel did with the newer movies.

More importantly I hope it’s a good movie

The more I toss around the idea of Namor the more I dislike the timing.

Dr. Doom going and bankrupting Wakanda makes more sense in the timeline...so far.

I think it would be dope if killmonger fell into a well that healed him and he took the throne post snappening and no longer needs the suit.

The decision was made on a sequel before the first one had even came out. They been plotting these movies years in advance.

Yeah I been saying they need to hire whoever did the action sequences and fight choreography for Civil War and Winter Soldier

Boffum had some fire ass hand to hand. Cap vs Bucky in the streets and then when Cap and Bucky worked the shit outta Tony

Well holdup now..

The fight choreography was on point for the scenes out of the suit.

Lambe Luta, Judo, Kali, Capoeria was all on display.

The end fight was where the movie lost me.

Everything seemed so grounded up until that point. Even the chase scene was believablem

They weren’t all bad. Although the “out of suit” combat they had him doing in that casino was trash. He looked slow af there.

My expectations for how he fights in suit and out and how the combat flowed came from his scenes in CW.

It was more visceral, and faster paced. Just far superior choreography, compared to this

CW set the bar high for what I thought BP was gonna be. I still loved it, just not for the reasons I thought I would going into it.

There are hundreds of black panther comics and stories.
Ok but I don’t read comic books.

I think the question comes from the concern that sequels will fall more into the comic book demographic instead of being as culturally significant as the first one.....

This was my aim. I like how significant this movie was for the culture but if it’s gonna start getting comic booky, I ain’t with it.

Lol That's like saying if a comedic movie with a message starts having alot of comedy you done. It is what it is, a comic film.

I don’t think you quite understand my aim so I’ll end this with a K.

K.

Somebody enlighten me on the Dr Doom and Panther arc, I see that's on most top 3 villain list for BP2.

I agree completely, but one thing I've learned about marvel is the sequels really step the game up outside of a couple exceptions. I thought the first guardians was better and iron man kind of got worse as it continued, but practically every other franchise including avengers got better choreography wise each installment.

I'm no director or producer but it almost seems like they use the first movie of a franchise as a "feeler" to see if it has an audience, then if successful they bump up the budget along with everything else. Then by the 3rd installment they are confident and go all out with it. Happened for avengers, thor, cap, and antman.

Just to add, I didnt think guardians 2 was bad. The first one is just much more memorable for me. Was such an awesome experience in theaters besides the dance battle. The escape from ego was much better than how they handled Ronan lol.

Doctor strange seems to be the one exemption his debut was dope af.

Yeah they just need to up the fight scenes, in my theater I dont know if it was because the screen was not bright but when they are fighting towards the end in CGI it looked sketchy.

After the events of Secret Invasion, a regime change occurred in the western world. S.H.I.E.L.D. was disbanded and Tony Stark was fired in favor of a new organization, called H.A.M.M.E.R., which was headed by Norman Osborn. T'Challa received a random summoning from the then exiled Atlantean king, Namor. After meeting with him, he learned of the formation of a dark group mirroring the Illuminati. Namor asked T'Challa to join this "Dark Illuminati", to which he refused, citing his preference for the Illuminati.

Although he was a little annoyed at the refusal, Namor allowed T'Challa to peacefully leave. As he prepared to depart Atlantis, T'Challa was confronted by Dark Illuminati member, Doctor Doom. Not surprised that T'Challa refused to join their "Cabal", Doom proceeded to attack him, pitting T'Challa and his Dora Milaje against him and his "doom-bots".

After a brutally epic battle, that resulted in T'Challa becoming gravely injured, the Dora Milaje and T'Challa fled Atlantis. They managed to crash land in Wakanda and paired with the Doom altercation, the plane crash sent T'Challa into a coma.

Doomwar: Power

T'Challa awoke from his coma to find that Wakanda had been attacked by Morlun. He began training his body to fight Doom and as a man of science, he resulted to using magic to prepare for war. While he was in a coma, Shuri became regent of Wakanda and the new Black Panther. T'Challa reached out to the powerful Wakandan alchemist, Zawavari. The witch doctor empowered him with acolytes, that enhanced his strength, senses, and provided him with a way to resist Doom's magic-based attacks. He then approached the Dora Milaje sensei, Aneka, about blending science and sorcery into her Wakandan battle techniques.

Elsewhere, Doom funded the Desturi (Wakandan dissidents dedicated to civil war) with resources to initiate a coup d'état on Shuri. Walter Declun, Doom's chief of operations, laid a trail of disinformation that distracted Shuri and T'Challa long enough for the Desturi to overthrow the Panther Clan, in a highly elaborate and successful coup.

With the Desturi coup successful, they made Storm, S'yan, and Ramonda their prisoners. Meanwhile, T'Challa, Shuri, and the Dora Milaje, teamed up with the Fantastic Four and a few X-Men in an attack on the Desturi. T'Challa and his allies managed to take back Wakanda, freeing all Desturi prisoners. Elsewhere, Doom infiltrated Wakanda and managed to steal a large amount of processed vibranium.

He ventured to his home nation, Latveria, where he began attacking various cities around the world by using the vibranium to manipulate all vibranium-based objects and structures. Storm, Shuri, the Dora Milaje, and the Fantastic Four were instructed to take out Doom's worldwide network facilities, while T'Challa initiated a plan to save the world. The heroes later traveled to Latveria to confront Doom.

T'Challa engaged in combat with Doom and managed to plant a remote device on him that made processed vibranium inert. The device was so powerful that all vibranium across the world became defunct. Doom's newly acquired vibranium-based armor was rendered useless and he was defeated. T'Challa then returned to Wakanda to store some remaining active vibranium, that was recovered with the help of Storm, the X-Men, the Avengers, and the Fantastic Four.
