When WWE was phasing out of the Stone Cold and Rock era they made sure their younger guys was there to hand them the ball, AEW not doing that. 60 year old Sting going over talent 40 years younger than him but y'all get a kick out of that because he's no selling being power bombed through tables

Maybe AEW is fine giving us old and young booking. You say they aint growing which nobody is right now in wrestling as far as companies but they def keep their steady base. Sometimes wrestling doesnt have to be the same formula bs.

Exactly

AEW ain't WWE. Just like WWE wasn't like WCW.

WWE wanna create their talent from the bottom up. Why? Control

AEW and the other promotions gear towards talents that already got a following. Talents thsts been grinding in the indies.

Plus AEW only been doing thus for 1...2...3 years. They still a new company. Chi wants AEW to be like a company that's been doing it for decades. It takes time.

And they shouldnt ever be like another company. 10 yrs down the line i still expect AEW to be AEW. HOPEFULLY.

But it is like another company, even using that other company guys that was discarded
I dont view talent as company guys. Meaning because they were in ___ promotion before doesnt make me think they are ___ guys. They are wrestlers who wrestle under the promotion they are currently under. A company guy to me is a guy who never leaves ____ company ever.

Then brotha...you aint tryin to have a successful company. Cuz there's no way you letting the ones who got "discarded" pass you by if you're another promotion.

WCW had a mix of vets and newbies

WWE had and STILL has a mix of vets and newbies

Impact has a mix of vets and newbies

Other promotions has a mix of indie vets and indie newbies

So I'm not sure what company you talkin about that has nothin but BRAND NEW talent on the roster...and is thriving.

Not every new talent is ready to be thrust in the limelight. WWE has a multitude of new talent. And what happens when they get bumped to main? Most flame out, and a small percentage don't.

MLW maybe and guess what, nobody watches MLW so your point is proven.

AEW sacrificed their whole roster to be a CM Punk tribute promotion which is tied into being a Bret Hart appreciation show.

It's a show where guys like Bret and Punk are the # 1 star instead of being the placeholders that they were on the big show.

Problem is they will be always be searching for a true top guy until they find 1. Look how quick they tossed Cody and Hangman aside to install Punk.

Bret Hart is the number 1 on the show. Yeah you losing the fight. You forget it was for Owen lol...... got pull another trick out the bag.

EDIT when i was responding i thought this was Chi lol so my bad.

But to what your saying my other post still stands. This is a wrestling company that doesnt need the old school booking bs. They have made Hangman, Wardlow, Darby Allin and MJF stars. WWE not even cranking out folks over like that. Bryan, Moxley and Punk are there to help build and elevate talent and its the first year. Folks need to let shit breathe. Im sure MJF was if not still penciled in to beat Punk for the world strap.

The whole promotion is in a competition to crib the most of Bret as possible. Moveset, whole sequences. Sharpshooters all over the place. The main event finish was a direct reference to Bret's Mania match against Roddy Piper. That's what I mean.

I mean they had the Owen Hart tournament. They were showing love to the different Harts moves and finishes. Yall acting like they was doing this every week for 3 yrs. It was mostly during the tournament. Martha Hart was there, she even said she loved the tribute spots. This is what I mean when folks find the slightest thing to complain.

Lol exactly, same difference.

WWE really has a gold mine of stars. Definitely not on the level of the Attitude Era where we were gifted Stone Cold, Taker, The Rock, HHH etc. But theres so many folks on the current roster that anyone one of us could book drastically better than Vince. Thats the thing I respect about AEW they treat their stars pretty well.

Soooo any other Wrestling News today?

Here’s some!!

Jake Atlas, who was signed to a WWE NXT deal after an appearance on Undercover Boss before later joining AEW, was arrested on 5/23 in Orlando, Florida and charged with misdemeanor battery (domestic assault) on his partner of several years.

The police report noted that officers responded to a domestic violence call at the home of Atlas, real name Kenny Sanchez Martinez, and his partner (who PWInsider is not identifying due to their status as a victim) at 12:57 AM.

The report claims that Atlas was out drinking at Bid Daddy's Roadhouse the night before, 5/22 and called his partner at 10 PM EST to come pick him up. When his partner arrived and attempted to bring Atlas home, Atlas instead wanted his partner to remain and drink with him. The victim stated that Atlas later wanted him to go back to another friend's house to be intimate together but Atlas, according to the victim, was upset his partner was showing "half more attention" to her than Atlas, sparking a "verbal argument."

The report then claimed that Atlas "became physically aggressive" and charged at the victim, leading to another witness having to step in between them to prevent an attack. The witness convinced Atlas to come back and "sleep it off" at his place as Atlas was intoxicated. Atlas' victim left the apartment but Atlas followed, continuing to yell at him as he attempted to walk away. Atlas again attempted to attack the victim with the witness again trying to stop it from happening, but this time, the altercation left the victim with a scratch on his left forearm and his tank top torn.

The witness was able to separate Atlas from the victim and get Atlas into a car, but Atlas exited and demanded to be brought back to his apartment to retrieve his dog and leave. Once he returned to the apartment, which he and the victim shared, Atlas refused to leave despite multiple opportunities to do so, so the police were called.

The responding officer noted in the report that despite being given the chance to give his side of the story, Atlas instead only wished to "speak badly" about the victim instead of telling his side. The officer determined Atlas was the aggressor in the situation and placed him under arrest.

Atlas signed a no contact order agreeing to have no communication and to stay 500 feet away from the victim the same day he was arrested.

He was released from jail later on 5/23 and is set to appear before Orange County, Florida court on 6/28, where he will be officially arraigned at 7:30 AM.

Atlas suffered a torn ACL right after signing with AEW back in January during a Rampage taping in Newark, NJ. He announced he underwent surgery on 2/16 but has yet to return to the ring.

Atlas has not publicly commented on the arrest.
