'I Felt Like Spiderman': 7-Year-Old Boy Rescues Elderly Neighbor

A seven-year-old boy in Crewe, England, helped rescue his elderly neighbor who had fallen down and was trapped inside her house.

Stella Thorley, 79, fell while going to the bathroom in the middle of the night and could not get back up on her own.

Her family couldn't get through to her on the phone, or get an answer at the door, so they tried to get into her home. The key was stuck in the inside of the door, preventing entry. Her daughter, Jane, attempted to get in for an hour. That's when Jayden stepped in to save the day.

The 7-year-old offered to try and reach the key and thanks to his "super stretchy" and thin arms, he was able to retrieve the key, and gain entry to the home.

A Woman With Special Needs Wanted To Be A Cook, So This Restaurant Made It Happen

A restaurant in West Virginia is being celebrated for hiring employees with special needs.

Jordyn's Deli in Falling Waters is a special kind of eatery that supports special needs employment.

In a recent Facebook post, the restaurant posted photos of the new bench they built for an employee named Angelina who desired to be a cook.

"When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade," they wrote.

"And when one of your best employees comes to you and says that in spite of all obstacles, they want to be a cook...you find a way to make it happen.

You move a couple pieces of equipment around so she can reach. You take some wood, screws and the skills of a local craftsman (her grandfather 🥰) to make her a perch. And you step back to watch her live out a dream. Angelina's Reubens. Nothing any better.

Walmart To Pay 100% Of College Tuition And Books For Employees

Walmart announced on Tuesday that it will pay for 100% of college tuition and books for employees through its Live Better U (LBU) education program.

Previously, employees paid a $1-per-day fee for the LBU program. But starting August 16, that fee will be removed.

This means approximately 1.5 million part-time and full-time Walmart and Sam's Club associates in the U.S. can earn college degrees or learn trade skills without the burden of education debt.

As the largest U.S. private employer, Walmart is committing to invest nearly $1 billion over the next five years in career-driven training and development.

Meet the foster dad opening his home to kids during the pandemic

North Carolina dad Peter Mutabazi understands what it means to be given a second chance.

Born in Uganda to an abusive father, Mutabazi ran away when he was 10 years old. He said he struggled on the streets until a Good Samaritan took him in.

"My childhood was difficult, but somehow it gave me empathy," Mutabazi told TODAY co-host Hoda Kotb.

After attending college in the U.K., he moved to the United States to work for World Vision, a nonprofit that helps children.

Mutabazi knew he wanted to created a safe home for children, something he didn't have when he was a child, so he began serving as a foster parent in 2017.

The plan to create a 50 million-tree forest in the north of England

Fresh funding has been secured for the forest, which will provide a leafy corridor between Liverpool, Manchester and Hull

An ambitious project to plant 50m trees in northern England has taken a step forward after the UK government pledged £15m to the cause on Monday.
According to the Woodland Trust, which is overseeing the project, that will be enough to plant 1m trees over the coming year – 3m have already been planted.
It’s all part of the Northern Forest initiative: an ambitious plan to create a leafy corridor from Liverpool to Hull, taking in Manchester, Leeds and Sheffield. It launched three years ago to boost tree numbers in an area that has just 7.6 per cent woodland cover, compared to a national average of 13.2 per cent.
