Welcome To aBlackWeb

It was 50 yrs ago that the US government & White Supremacy assassinated Fred Hampton

RIP

Is socialism really the way to go though?

Just as a quick aside. That was a different time. There were socialist revolutions going on all over the world and in countries where there werent full blown revolutions there were always socialist movements.

The Black Panther Party were fully socialist/communist and Huey P Newton got numerous in invites to communist China and the USSR.

In 2019, the concept of socialism is has evolved alot. If Fred Hampton and Huey were still alive I think their ideologies would have also evolved.

In short though, is the socialism from the 60s and 70s the way? Probably not. Is modern day socialism like Denmark or Canada got the way? Probably so.

I grew up a revolutionary junkie. I grew up on reading all about Che, Castro, Mao, Mendala and lesser known people like Apo, Zapata etc.

Believing myself to be a huge communist at the time led to me heavily reading on Malcolm which eventually led to Huey Newton, Fred Hampton, Bobby Seale, and Elridge Cleaver. All of them were just as vitally important to the black panthers but Fred Hampton was by far the most inspirational. Its easy to see that he was the most dangerous one according to White America and why they had to kill him.

It's crazy that they've pretty much admitted that they murdered him, but they did such a good job of maligning the Black Panthers that people still believe Hampton's death was justified. That's the power of negative propaganda especially when its used by racists.

This adds on to what I was saying in the other topic about how white supremacy is an attack on white people too but they are too stupid to see it. Think about the most well known black leaders that were assassinated.

MLK lived to get the Civil Rights act passed. His next move was to basically unify people across racial lines and push the agenda that Bernie Sanders is pushing now. That's when he was assassinated.

When X was all about black rights and didn't give a fuck about anyone else, he was safe. As soon as he started talking about how black rights could be achieved by working with others and not necessarily seeing others as the enemy, he was assassinated.

Now look at Fred Hampton. When the BPP was believed to just be serving the black community, their leaders largely managed to stay alive even with the negative propaganda against them. As soon, as they started getting other races, particularly whites involved, to start a huge movement to benefit blacks and other poor people, Hampton was assassinated.

The point is that as I've said time and time again, racism as a concept in this country was created to keep the people from forming a united front to fight on behalf of the common man. Every time a black leader steps beyond trying to win for blacks and towards trying to actually make the country a better place, that leader has been killed. The people in power don't care about throwing crumbs to black people her and there to make us feel like we're accomplishing something. What they absolutely won't allow is for black people to use our struggle to enact change that robs them of their power.
