OPINION Is there such thing as too much discourse? What’s the solution?

With the current political climate, the list of contentious issues has reached an unprecedented level. It seems like more issues than ever have become little more than “political footballs,” where there is aggressive argument coming from both sides but little to no meaningful action.

Seems like the cycle is: some event happens, both sides argue back and forth about how to fix it or whether it even needs to be fixed, then another event happens which overshadows the last.

“Paralysis by analysis” seems to be the new norm.

Is this just our world now? Can we recover?

these "hot button" topics are chosen and exploited specifically because they can never be resolved. Neither side will ever gain ground. They will be debated endlessly just to drive ratings and ad revenue.

Sad but true. Too sensationalized. I always feel like we're living in one of those spoof movies like The Naked Gun or Scary Movie when I watch the news.
