What you're missing is the toxic behavior and consequences that result from the analytics of IG users.
The followers just to see ass, tits, and hopefully get their favorite girl to notice their DM. The girls are using their pages as platforms to advertise their third party ventures be it bartending, stripping, prostitution, modeling, singing, porn, etc. That's where the money is, which is why they get targeted by phishers and hackers and they inspire an ever increasing population of girls looking for that same level of attention and money. Meanwhile those pitiful sad sacks are in the comments and DMs dying from dehydration and it's a sad sight to see.
I say all that to say, yes. Some people need to be knocked down a peg. These "Instagram hoes" fall in that category. That goes double for the scammers.
I just find it peculiar that the most invested in this are their biggest fans..
