Welcome To aBlackWeb

OPINION I hate stories like this:

Socialism saved President Trump's life when he went to Walter Reed to get socialized medicine when he had COVID-19
It sure the fuck did. That bastard would've been went down after he got the Rona, had he not had THE BEST medical team available in this country and possibly, the entire world.

But 'fuck socialism', he said. Biden should've DESTROYED him on that during the debates. Donnie Dickwad has been the world's biggest freeloader off the gov't during his regime. He ran those bills UP, and people thought him "donating" his annual salary of $400K was him being benevolent, while he was not only splurging more than $150M off the gov't with all his vacations, but milking that shit with all the back-alley deals he did with those Middle Eastern countries, not too mention basically selling Presidential Pardons for few Ms.

Shameful, hypocritical shit he did....and even more shameful of the seals that let this slide without uttering a fuckin peep.

It's strange you're hangin' on this. His students, a colleauge at either of his jobs, his wife or children, friend. Any number of people could have told the news media
“Hey, students, I’m gonna get a second gig stocking shelves at Walmart because I wanna help y’all and I’m just a helluva guy.”

I’m just a different type of dude, I guess.

I don’t really feel the need to tell people when I do something helpful.

But, that’s just me.

Now, enough about that. I don’t wanna derail the thread.

The strange part is you believin' this is what happened with no good cause to and you're choosin' to give that importance over the bruddas good deed.

It’s still not technically the alumni’s responsibility either.
I hear you, but the way to combat this if for us to take care of our own.

A strong alumni association with funds specifically to help students in need raises the community awareness of those children and families. Which in turn attracts programs and activities for those kids to get involved in.

The schools here in Baltimore with the best alumni associations consistently have the most people there and available to help the kids who need It most.

I suggest you all find some kids to help out.

If you understood.....You would understand things clearer.

Too many of us are comfortable enjoying our piece of the pie. Some are enjoying it and leaving people (sometimed their kids)out.

Fuck how y'all feel .....How about those left behind?

We gotta give what we take to create balance.
Especially for black kids......I made a thread for you niggas to donate to teachers trying to help kids....

You help the youth and the youth will do right by us.

Keep ignoring it.....It WILL arrive on your doorstep.

I expect all those who talk shit about meek mills giving $20 to at least match the 20 to help out a kid.

Tired of you comfortable niggas

Y'all sick with the "Hey, big head" shit.

Anywho, school is what the household makes it out to be. Most parents probably could teach their child(ren) themselves, but a TON of them are too tired from their own jobs or flat-out too lazy to do so, which is why they palm their kids off on teachers. We went over this before when some posters here thought that teachers were nothing more than baby sitters.

The biggest issue in the public school system is that it doesn't teach survival skills as kids progress in age. It's all academic-based, which is somewhat hopeful that all these kids are going to college, that aren't at trade schools. However, most schools don't teach basic financial literacy, and classes like Home Economics have been all but eliminated due to it being considered outdated thinking for women and the rise of third-wave feminism. They call it "Family and Consumer Science" classes now, and not many schools even bother to teach them anymore. I guess they figured kids won't need to know how to boil eggs and hot dogs when they get hungry, cause they can always order out, or they won't have to iron pants anymore cause all work environment should be causal dress.

It's sad when you consider the things that have been eliminated from basic curriculums today:

How to tell time on an analog clock (because all clocks are digital)
Cursive writing script (like no one signs anything with their name anymore)
The Dewey Decimal System (who goes to libraries, still.....right?)
Roman Numerals (Because all the US Amendments/building foundations should be regular numbers now, right?)
Sewing (just buy a new one if it rips)

This is the just the beginning.....
And not a nigga ever step to a black teacher and says thank you like they ain't on the front lines.

Black teachers in our community needs the same respect as a veteran.

Tell me I'm wrong

Black teachers do deserve respect and a salute but I just hate the shit they be teaching.

I’m gonna catch Hell for this but....

The thing I hate about this story is the fact this dude felt the need to tell the media that he got a second job in order to help his students.

I hate when people do something honorable and then look for a pat on the back.

If you wanna do something nice for somebody, just do it.

If I got a second job in order to help my students, nobody would ever know about it , because I ain’t one of those “LOOK AT ME” kinda people.

I hate when people want praise and special attention just for doing something humane.

You can report me if you want.
Or or or

Maybe it can Inspire someone else.

We gotta stop going extreme negative about our own.

Even if that was the case.....Help the man vs saying it's clout chasing.

You see his skin color?

Hes trying

Nothing but respect should be given.

Fuck you up

Why is he telling anybody?
Could have been anyone. As he is helping others, you dont think he was ever asked about his good deeds? Could have been a private convo and the matter just came up. The people he helped could have easily told others about his kind deeds. In this circumstance, it is good that they showed this cause it could be the catalysis to get others to help. Not sure why you have an issue with it in this circumstance. Just talking bout this article.

We need to stop with this humble silence bullshit.

it’s people out here doing good but niggas want them to not say nothing... why?

Thats my question..,.,why.

If a nigga can say I got a new car then a nigga should be able to say I helped feed kids without him looking like he want attention.

fuck is wrong with this picture?

I love teachable moments like this....especially when hip-hop can provide that answer:

Some of y'all need to listen to this interlude, particularly the question, "Who's coming to save you?"

“Look at me... I’m gonna film myself giving some homeless guy a few bucks and post the video on YouTube, because I’m such a great guy.”

That’s you.... And cool. Do you.

That aint me.

That kinda stuff is corny to me and it looks fake.

Do something nice because it’s in your heart and you think it’s the right thing to do....

..... Not because you wanna be acknowledged for your good deed and get a photo op.

If this teacher LITERALLY had nothing at all to do with this story getting out (he didn’t tell his friends, his family, his students, the media, etc), then COOL, I was wrong and maybe the story just miraculously came outta nowhere.

Now, that’s the last I’m gonna say about it.

When did I ever say it was cool for people to boast about a “new car”.

these are not “feel good” stories. these stories represent how broken america is and how we’ve failed working class ppl, especially teachers and students.

sick of it.

speaking honestly about government and capitalist failings >>>> framing every story of one person or institution going above and beyond the entire us government as “heart warming” masking government and capitalist failings

This lets me know there's still kind-hearted ppl out there in this cold world today.

I be helping folks out down here a lot too. Thank goodness I don't have to get an overnight job to do it tho. I spent quite a few $$ when a hurricane came through here and ravaged this country. But when I get back to the States, I'm thinking of what I most definitely do to help ppl in need.

ALL certified teachers in this country should have a starting salary at $50K. It's the bare minimum needed to ensure they not only have enough to maintain their own cost of living, it can incentivize them to provide supplies for their classroom when schools fall short on funding, or when teachers want to deviate their own learning experiences with their students.

Ionno... What supplies are the teachers buying???

When I was in school, on day 1 we were sent home with a list of supplies our parents had to buy. If you didn't have it, you were ass out. The teachers never provided anything for the students. When did this become a thing?

I guess that’s where some teachers differ. Me, I stay having pencils and paper, and other supplies on deck just to stop this type of things.

Last school year, I bought Black History pencils for every kid in the 6th grade. Just an example, but stuff like that is what teachers should be providing.
