Führer Trump’s Impeachment Inquiry Thread. Update: The Senate completes the coverup

Report: State Dept Quietly Released Ukraine Aid On Bolton’s Orders

Former National Security Adviser John Bolton reportedly directed the State Department to release $141 million in military to Ukraine several days before President Donald Trump claims he himself had authorized the aid’s release.

Bloomberg reported on Saturday that though Trump claims he had unfrozen funds for the aid on September 11 after Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH) had begged for him to do so that day, the State Department had already quietly released the aid on Bolton’s orders several days prior. Bloomberg could not verify whether Trump had signed off on Bolton’s directive.

The department reportedly released the aid after White House lawyers found that Trump and the Office of Management and Budget could not legally delay it, a finding the lawyers had made earlier in 2019. According to Bloomberg, the lawyers detailed the finding in a classified memo to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

An unnamed source told Bloomberg that White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney was blindsided by Bolton’s order.

A spokesperson for the OMB told Bloomberg that Bolton lacked the authority to issue such an order and had not done so.

Trump Demands Stronger Defense From Republicans Amid Impeachment Probe

President Donald Trump wanted his Republican defenders to stick to a very specific script when they defend his call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“Republicans, don’t be led into the fools trap of saying it was not perfect, but is not impeachable,” Trump tweeted on Sunday. “No, it is much stronger than that. NOTHING WAS DONE WRONG!”

Several hours before Trump’s comment, Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-TX) told “This Week” anchor Martha Raddatz that he believes Trump asking Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate Joe Biden was “inappropriate” but not impeachable.

When Obama was president, every other day white conservative groups had all these conspiracy theories about him that were unfounded lies. But they believed them so whole heartedly and thought Obama supporters just were ignoring the truth out of tribalistic loyalties. When in fact they were just racist that didnt want a black man as president so they were willing to believe outlandish shit about him..

Aight so flip that..

That's what they see when they see all these Trump stories. If yall can be blind to your guy, then we can be blind to our guy and this what yall get. So no matter what he does, out of spite, they wont stop supporting him. Cause they are racist, and that's all that it is, straight up and down.

These guys can be complete idiots, and admit to their crime and come back a day later and say they didnt mean it like that. Cause they know at the end of the day, stupid minorities that want to be accepted by whites, and whites that ironically dont even like minorities, will always choose Trump over everything.

Giuliani Peddles Nonsensical Notion That Trump Only ‘Requested,’ Didn’t ‘Demand’ Quid Pro Quo

Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani penned a Wall Street Journal op-ed Tuesday, centering his case for President Donald Trump’s innocence on the dubious logic that Trump only “requested” and did not “demand” that the Ukrainian President make up a Biden scandal.

“Moreover, Mr. Trump requested that Ukraine root out corruption; he didn’t demand it,” he wrote. “His words were cordial, agreeable and free of any element of threat or coercion. Mr. Trump offered nothing in return to Ukraine for cleaning up corruption.”

In fact, many witnesses in the impeachment inquiry have now testified to the fact that military aid to Ukraine was held back as leverage to force Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to go after the Bidens.

However, as spurious as the logic may seem, Giuliani may be getting at the newest Republican talking point to push back against the inquiry, now that their complaints about the private hearings are moot. They seem to be floating a “it wasn’t a crime because it was unsuccessful” kind of approach — that any pressure Trump put on Ukraine didn’t matter, because he ended up releasing the military aid without getting what he wanted in return.

Giuliani has become increasingly implicated in the Ukraine pressure campaign, and recently lawyered up as federal investigators scrutinize his business relationship with his now-arrested associates Lev Parns and Igor Fruman.
