Director David F. Sandberg originally tried to get Henry Cavill to cameo as Superman in Shazam!. However, Sandberg eventually had to settle for a stuntman in Cavill’s place. This week, fresh rumors emerged that Sandberg would have another chance by putting Cavill in Shazam!: Fury of the Gods, the upcoming sequel. Unfortunately a new report from Variety has shot down those rumors

Henry Cavill has been rumored to have completed a deal with WB to continue as Superman. Neither the studio nor Cavill have confirmed it though.

TBH I think they are waiting for reactions of the Snyder Cut before they make any big announcements as they are probably basing the reactions on their next move for the DC Films.
