Craziest Sample Flip

The Lonious Monk

Celestial Souljah
So we've heard plenty of rap songs that sample well known rock, R&B, and funk songs. But post some rap songs that sample off the wall or unexpected songs and the songs sampled.

Dirty - My Cadillac

The Playmates - Beep Beep

The craziest thing about the Dirty song is that they must have actually listened to the other song and not just flipped the sample because the last verse of the Dirty song was a flip of the original song's theme.

Dilla sampled Turkish folk band Mogollar

Yeah, that's the kinda shit I'm talking about. Like that's not something a dude just has sitting in the crates unless he has some eclectic musical tastes.

Wu Syndicate - Weary Eyes

Firefall - Dolphin Lullaby

I like the original track here. Mellow shit.

This one I'll always find dope as fuck: Two songs, polar opposites of the Hip Hop spectrum, both sample the same song and use two completely different sections to get a different vibe:

and:

Both sample this:

I wouldn't say the sample is too off the wall. That's the kinda music a lot of hip hop is based on, but I agree the way they flipped it for two very different rap songs is dope.

Another example is how the Bang Bang sample has been used.

Young Buck - Bang Bang

Wu-tang - Windmill

Nancy Sinatra - Bang Bang

One of the coldest beats in hip hop ever...

came from this..
