I am a little confused cause I had to step out the theater. Someone said there were multiple Candymen? So was that story homie ftom the cleaners told true and just a different Candyman? I thought he made it up cause that was not thr original Candyman's origin. I need to watch it again on Clutch.tv

They pretty much took from first movie and expanded on it. When he was telling Helen to be his victim, he was grooming her to continue the legend. This is known at the end when ol boy says Helen's name at end in the bathroom and she shows up all burnt up because that's how she died.

He must've felt responsible for ole boys death when he was kid and decided to carry on tradition

You were confused because scenes were clearly missing. His motivation made no sense at the end to suddenly do what he did.
