It was a Patti Labelle sitcom. It had Vivica Fox and I believe Morris Chestnut and Duane Martin in it too. It was only on for less than a year. 9/92-7/93. Patti played a former singer who opened a nightclub. Vivica played her daughter I think.

Family Matters being on the lower tier is disrespectful. Family Matters was probably one of the biggest black sitcoms (after Fresh Prince) since Cosby was no longer on TV. Urkelmania was HUGE!
