I was bar tending and talked with a guy once who told me basically he went full head-over-heels, please-give-me-a-chance mode just to GET a chance with this Japanese woman that he now calls his wife, and they been together ever since they met. Kids and all. She came into the bar and joined him real quick while we was talking and he introduced me to her. We all chatted a bit and I could tell from the interaction that , though they both still clearly happy with each other, she held all the power in the relationship. But again the dude clearly was fine with it and seemed to adore her no less than the day they met how he described it.
