Obviously, the Cowboys can’t cut David Irving because he is young pass rushers in the NFL, so he can raise of fist or do cartwheels during the anthem and nothing will happen to him. Here is the problem with cutting Damontre Moore the other player who raised his fist after the anthem.

It could be 100% football related, but because Jerry Jones made such a fuss about punishing any player on the Cowboys who protested during or immediately following the anthem, people are going to ask the question was Moore cut because of it.

Jason Garrett being annoyed by it, doesn’t help matters. Here are his very short quotes via PFT.

“We had to make a roster move and we just felt like the best decision for our team was to release Damontre Moore,” Garrett said.

Garrett answered “no” when asked if Moore’s post-national anthem protest or anything else off the field contributed to his release.

Once again, it could be all football related, but we will never know because Jerry Jones decided he wanted to be the face of anti protests.

If even it was 100% football related, it still sends a message to the team that if you are low on the totem pole, your job isn’t safe, so make sure you fall in line.

Which is what lower level Cowboys players have told me from the beginning, that they are afraid they will be cut and have no way to prove why, if they protested during the anthem.
