Welcome To aBlackWeb

As an Asian-American, I'm Tired of Being Racially Gaslit By My Peers

Had a friend and know a couple black folks that have a business right in Korean and China town in LA.

Not sure about where the Asian communities is in the DFW. Everybody is everywhere.

@Rubato would you say Arlington around Arkansas/Collins area is where most Asian folks is at? I see a lot of stores that has Asian writings and Asian mini malls
East side off 360 from Mayfield up to Division is where they mainly at...I stay at that lil Thai spot off Arkansas lmao

They got a lil China town in GP on Division/Main

Y'all chill up in Ag-Town?

Korean Town. You ever been to LA Korean Town.

Also, It folded due reason due solely to that person.

I used to live in Koreatown back in the mid-00ties when they were just beginning the Gentrification process. I don't know what it looks like now, but GOD it was so nasty! Shit-stained Walls EVERYWHERE!!!!!

:scust:

Calling an Asian Covid-19 is some racist shit though.

Why is that hard for y’all to understand

Bruh, it was trash talk and both you and Lin know that. If you want to say it was foul and went too far, fine, even though we know black players have said worse to each other. But it is mad disingenuous for him to try and lump trash talk on the court with racist attacks on the streets.

So would you be upset was if Luka was calling niggas porch monkey and watermelon water on the court?

Thats my main issue with that.

Its a complex thing and he knows that. If he was as problem ridden as he wants us to believe, name the guy.

Hey man John Johnson III called me Covid-19, Coronavirus etc.

He won't. He knows this issue lands as a black man causing drama and problems on poor Asians. Which is garbage of him.

When it comes to trash talk, if you dishing it, you got to be willing to accept it. You think someone like Gary Payton would have got on TV calling a white dude a racist for saying something like you mentioned after he just got done calling that white boy a cracka. Probably not because that's not how he moved.

I'm not saying that Lin didn't have the right to be mad about hearing that. I'm just saying he should have approached the people who said it and told them it wasn't cool instead of throwing it out there now like those people were intentionally trying to commit a hate crime.

Black people don’t have the systemic power to act on their prejudices. See apartheid in South Africa. See Jim Crow, redlining, etc.

You're describing institutional racism. Not general racism. This is why it sounds so stupid and why people instantly scoff at the claim. It's like calling socialism communism. They aren't the same, there are subgroups and umbrella terms with their own specifics and ideals. So when a person goes about saying black people can't be racist, straight up, it borderlines on the suggestion that we can be racist and discriminatory without accountability or harmful consequence. I'm not gonna go ahead and legitimize the conflation, obfuscation, or shifting of meaning of words on a whim because some scholar decided they had a better definition for it or because ignorant people want to play with words like a game of broken telephone. Let's call it what it is. Institutional racism or systemic racism.

Racism in general is hate and antagonism directed at people of other races and ethnic backgrounds. Black people can be racist. Louis Farrakhan is racist asf. But by your definition I guess he isn't? OK THEN.

You sure about that? Can you open a store in a Chinese community right now?

What are you suggesting? Black people can't in theirs, but Asian people can in ours? That's bullshit and you know it is. Besides, in accounting for the apparent discrepancies in business crossover, there's more to factor in here than racism.
