This shit here makes me mad. Mad at our people and the apartment complex and the city.

I remember doing uber eats and seeing apartments with residents like this one here in Atlanta. The living conditions are crazy.

Is it the tenants fault for staying in these conditions?

Chicago posters, yall know about this area , this a city right outside of Chicago. Is this something Harvey,IL been on. I do know that as a people. When we know oh that area is like this, we kinda just feel like it's those black people who choose to live there and etc etc

Sidenote : tiktok people covering this are interesting. I mean I guess everybody should be like this isn't right. But it's alot of white tiktok people reporting on this and saying how Chicago news hasn't really reported on the story.

Chicago like DC, Philly, NYC and ATL suffers from having a bougie, weak, lifeless, shiftless, greedy, stupid, hateful, and disrespectful Black political and business class that deceive and misconstrue what success looks like.

The Black mayor of Chicago has spent more time and money trying to house non-citizens who are going to compete with the already neglected Black population for low skill, low wage jobs.

So yeah, nobody is going to cover and expose Black residents being locked in an apartment. All across major cities with large Black populations, Black people are being packed in like sardines, dying slowly from health violations, rent being stolen and nobody does shit. I can believe Black people being boarded up.

I don't know what it is going to take for everyday Black Americans to realize three things:

1. The Civil Rights Movement failed. All it did was create a veneer of acceptance and tolerance that selfish, careerist, striving Black individuals exploit for their own gain, leaving everyone behind.

2. Black celebrity is a concession from White capital to give the illusion of Black economic power and acceptance. From Michael Jackson to Jay Z to Whitney Houston to Beyonce, it's all distraction.

3. We are being actively displaced no different than the Palestinians or Native Americans. When historic Black cities with a long history of Black political control like Chicago would rather spend millions to secure the safety of non-citizens than the people that vote for them, it's fucking over.

Covid and the self-created migrant crisis should be proof to every Black American that the United States has the money and political will to intervene, but just not for what we need and deserve.

The country don't give a fuck about us at all, on any level. We don't even give a fuck about us in a serious way because we don't take political action.

Sir...you have summed this up so well...this thread should be closed out of pure accuracy and proper analysis...what more can anyone add to this summary?

I don't really understand this story.

The building was apparently one step away from being a crime ridden deathtrap. The people were told ahead of time that the building was basically being condemned. I get that some people still might not of left due to not having an alternative place to go. What I don't get is how they could be boarded up and not realize it. That would seem like a pretty noisy process. May they are deep sleepers or something?

On news radio they interviewed one of the tenants who said he opened his door to go outside and all he saw was plywood

Lmao that shit is crazy

They probably thought ppl were knocking to get them out and ignored that shit

Everybody here is being silly and petty minus ppl who maybe really can't leave.

The ppl who boarded it think they're Marlo from The Wire.

I hate to say it but if america keeps selling its real estate to the highest bidder no matter who they are or what their country of residence is we're going to see a lot more of this. Our future is going to be all the land is owned by oligarchs and land barons and by the time we figure out they have all been working together and the idea of nationalism was just a distraction it's going to be way too late.

Look at the names on that deed.
