Rap wise Jay wasnt that influential. But he did get all of rap to rock Ace bottles in their videos and raps. Got Cristal up df outa here going on 20 years now. Legendary stuff

36 Mafia pretty much birthed the sound of the past 10 years. The sound, beats, and the million samples used in hits on the radio. Memphis boys came a long way.

Obviously the old ones like Pac.
Yeah I definitely have 3 6 Mafia in my four. When I consider the poll, I'm thinking what most rappers have sounded like over the last 20 years or so.

3 6 Mafia
Wayne
Future
Rakim

No one sounds like Eminem really. I know he hyped up white kids to rap, but they don't sound like him. Hopsin sounds like Em, but that's only person that reminds me of Em, a lil bit.

Everyone says they admire Jay and Pac, but I don't hear Jay or Pac in most rappers.

Everyone at some point sounded like Rakim.

Today most rappers sound like a version of Future.

Nah u can hear a lot of Em influence in the more lyrical artists today at least in their earlier works I don't keep up as much.

cole and kdot def influenced by em. You can hear it even in some of kendricks recent disses

Dmx and Jay Z were crazy popular... But Eminem was on MTV daily.

People gotta realize a large bulk or majority of hip hop fans always looked like Eminem. He was just the first rapper to look like them. The connection was ridiculous.

Definitely right about Kendrick. And when I think about it...Cole actually sounds a lot like Pac. Though earlier Cole had more aggression in his delivery.

Yeah me and a few homies were smoking and counting how many tracks were in rotation on the radio and in big songs on albums that had a 36 sampled beats and/or vocals and it was like up to 25-30 songs and we were still adding to the list. Crazy how far they had come from stamping their own legacy and influencing a whole new gen.

Metro Boomin biggest influence is 36 Mafia

Drake - hand full of 36 samples and has praised them repeatedly

Megan- 36 Mafia is her favorite artist and sampled them alot.

Sexy Red her whole mixtape is 36 mafia samples and the deluxe had even more lol

J. Cole sampled 36 and shouted them out a few times.

Half of ASAP Rocky career is 36 mafia material and the other half is Houston

Like That which green lit the offical battle between Drake and KDot samples the 36(tear the club up thugs) (no it does not sample the E40 version).

Doja Cat has a few 36 samples and has spoke highly on them.

Gucci, Jeezy, TI both have praised 36 for influencing their music.

French Montana damn there samples their records every album he drop.

Could go on and on but yeah they pretty much shaped up this past generation of artist
