I think you have the timelines mixed up. It's clear by listening to the songs that Kendrick made MTG before he made Euphoria. I think Kendrick heard a version of Family Matters and he ran with it.

Keep in mind that the beginning of FM was an outro to Push Ups and Drake also shot a whole ass video for FM.

Kendrick sounded excited on Euphoria saying Drake had a mole in his camp and he ran with that information which was about having a daughter and fed into that shit. Drake literally says in FM that these bars go over Kenny's head. Then Kendrick had to take the album cover down because by now he knows the info he was fed wasn't legit.

That's why he released Not Like Us so quick to step on FM. You notice that Not Like Us focuses on the pedo allegations and not anything related to MTG or the shit on the album cover right? Nothing additional about his so called daughter.

So Kendrick was digging for dirt like Drake said and he got bad info. Then he leaned into the pedo allegations which is what Drake alluded to on The Heart Part 6. Then Drake barred Kenny up.
?? You quote the right person, fam? Lol. Not Like Us and Heart 6 are the only songs I'm referencing. Both are the most recently recorded songs by both sides out of what's been released so far.

I have no dog in this fight.

Drake has said some coon shit in the past, and KL hasn't, as far as I know, so if anything at this point I was more disposed to be on KL's side.

I don't even listen to new rap anymore.

This exchange of diss records has been going back and forth for a while now. Was I the least bit interested? Not really.

But yesterday I saw a thread about DJ Vlad that concerned KL's "Not like Us." So I decided to give the full song a listen.

Honestly, I was surprised at how terrible it was. Truly terrible.

Even then I still had no real interest in listening to any of Drake's tracks.

But then I came across Drake's "The Heart Part 6" without really looking and decided to press play.

That shit is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than "Not like US."

Lyrically, Drake is in a different universe than Lamar. Shit is obvious.

So what are we arguing over?

If you are a KL fan and are going to remain so no matter what, just say so.

But I am old enough to remember when rap battles were about the quality of the diss tracks. And in this respect, there's no question that Drake is getting the better of Lamar.

So, again, I don't see what y'all are arguing about.

@Mods, close this thread.

For the record, this entire battle is ass... just a bunch of gossip and pent up passive aggression over mid beats. But if you follow the timeline, K Dot lowkey lined up Drake. Even with the so called planted info K Dot played Drake's biggest insecurities against him. Drake is only defending at this point, K Dot can say what he wants from here. As far as the separate diss tracks, pick your poison I guess. But as far as the narrative goes, Drake is losing bad. And again, this battle is ass.

You press play on this and it's a 5 minute track of a grown man pushing 40 explaining that he would never mess with or look twice at a teenager (didn't say he wouldn't at least once though)...

...Despite us seeing footage of him literally on stage kissing a teenager talking about her body.

"Take that mask off / I wanna see what's under them achievements / Why believe you? You never gave us nothing to believe in / YOU LIED!"
