It was cool.
I think Kendrick did what drake and some people already suggested which is he knew he fucked up being baited by the 11 year old girl BS story and just dropped the banger after that to double down on the "he's a savage and he's killing Drake" angle.
I think the damage is already done and the people who wanted drake to lose are satisfied whether it's true or not.
