A surge of respiratory illnesses related to flu, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and other infections has been sweeping across some parts of China and mainly infecting children, as the country experiences its first full winter since easing COVID-19 restrictions.

Amid media reports of "undiagnosed pneumonia" cases overwhelming hospitals over the past few weeks, health authorities have insisted that the uptick is linked to common illnesses.

Since May, China has been experiencing an increased number of children sick with mycoplasma pneumoniae ā€“ bacteria that causes mild infections of the respiratory system ā€“ as well as pediatric cases of RSV, adenovirus, influenza and COVID-19 since the fall, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

There needs to be a global effort to have China answer for itself.

This really should've been a game changer, but people wanna act like it never happened.

Airlines still packing people on planes like sardines.........middle seats........comfort animals.

Nobody's masking up anymore..........no social distancing..............stadiums packed for concerts and sporting events.


I'm gonna be like those old white women from The Leftovers.

Still don't go anywhere without a mask...........and I've still got my Charmin stash from the pandemic.
